Picnic at Kaka'ako Park

The ALS support group had a baby shower for Aunty Jennifer, who was the Health Services Coordinator for MDA, at Kakaako Park.  It was another evening of potluck food.  We ate, talked, and watched Aunty Jenn open lots of girly gifts (Baby Jade is due in 4 weeks, but may arrive any day now!).  My favorite part of the afternoon was dancing to the DJ's music (There was a bigger party in another section of the park) and trying to box slide down the hill (Mommy and Daddy used to do this when they were younger, but Daddy was having trouble getting us down the hill this time...must be the old age.)  Everyone was impressed that I love my raw veggies as I munched on broccoli, beans, and carrots all afternoon.  The most precious gift was a handmade quilt that Aunty Nancy made.  She had given each of the ladies a quilt square to work on.  Then she put the 12 or so squares together in a beautiful quilt (that even folds up into a pocket, like a pillow).  Mommy had written a cute little poem on her square for the baby.  Can't wait to meet baby Jade.  She'll probably be pretty cute. Maybe I'll ask her out on a date (I mean a playdate) one day in the future.
