Mommy says she doesn't even remember what she did last Mother's Day because she was still trying to figure out how to be a Mom. This year, she was ready to have her day.
Since it was Mommy's Day today, Mommy got to do whatever she wanted. Of course, that meant starting with yoga first thing in the morning. Apparently, only about half the people as usual went. She's one of the crazy people that woke up at 6 am on a Sunday to go sweat it out. Go figure.
Then, she spent the afternoon with her girlfriends, Linh and Miya. She went with Linh to the outlet mall in Waikele. She bought a nice purse for Nana at Nana's favorite purse shop...Coach. Mommy would never buy one for herself, (and of course this one was on sale!) but since it was Nana's birthday and Mother's Day today, she figured Nana deserved it.
They grabbed lunch and ate at Miya's, visiting with 3 month old Aika. Then, the girls went to get their nails done. Mommy loved it, since she hardly ever spends the whole day out!
We all got home (after Daddy and I spent the afternoon at Nana's and Pop's) in time to get ready for dinner. We had a nice dinner at BluWater Grill in Hawai'i Kai. I loved it because I got to watch the duckies in the water and see all the boats go by. Nana pointed out a sparrow, but I told her, "No, bulbol." I kept arguing with her. I KNOW my birds. It was fun feeding the ducks after dinner.
I fell asleep on the car ride home, so I hear I missed out on chocolate birthday cake and present opening. Geez, I always miss the fun stuff! No tricky candles this time though...so I guess it's alright. Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there! (Aunty Michelle and Aunty Kai....any day now, and you'll be mommies soon too!!!)
Chase, I'm glad your mommy relaxed and pampered herself. She is one great mommy as you well know and she certainly deserved royal treatment on Mother's Day!
